Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

For KT’S Complementary Therapies

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. For myself, and I am sure for you too, not being able to see family and friends has been very tough. In addition to this the closing of my business affected me greatly. I am very much looking forward to reopening and seeing all my wonderful clients again, I have missed being able to offer you relaxing treatments that I know you enjoy and value. As KT’S Complementary Therapies will be reopen again soon I have created this Infection Prevention & Control Policy. Giving you reassurance that here at KT’S I am taking extra steps to protect my valued clients. I am looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening KT’S Relaxation Room I have implemented several changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time KT’S has been closed for business, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. I have since made several changes in the way that I operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments -

If I or those I live with feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, we will self-isolate immediately which mean that I will have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient, but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled I will re-book your appointment as soon as possible.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO KT’S FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT.

Visiting KT’S Complementary Therapies -

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. This will allow me to prepare the treatment area between clients.

I will be cleaning KT’S Relaxation Room and making sure that all common surfaces, toilets door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Wherever possible I will utilise environmentally friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from any possible cross infection.

You will have full access to washing facilities to enable you to wash your hands, in addition to alcohol hand sanitiser which will be available as you enter and leave KT’S.

I encourage you to wear a face coverings when visiting KT’S (if you do not have one, one will be provided for you) I will understand if you wish to wear any additional PPE when you visit KT’S and throughout your treatment if this is appropriate.

I will be wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves, face mask, face visor and aprons where appropriate.

I will ensure that the laundering of all salon towels and uniform items are a priority, I will be laundering all items at 60 degrees C as recommended.

All disposable items are to be bagged and safely removed from the treatment area between each client.

KT'S treatments -

All treatments have been risk assessed and will be reviewed on a regular basis as needed or required through legislative changes.

These are the following treatments that I have on offer at this present time –

Swedish Massage, Lava Shell Massage, Crystal Massage, Reflexology, Zu Qigong, Reiki, KT’S Zen Therapy, Hand, Foot & Leg Treatments and Body Waxing.

Due to the current situation we are in, the following treatments will NOT be provided until further notice – Mobile Service, Bamboo Massage, Facial Treatments, Facial Waxing Treatments.

During your treatment -

The importance of hand hygiene is uppermost and I will ensure that I will be washing my hands in according with the NHS’s recommendations before the start of your treatment and also if requested by yourself at any time throughout your visit.

I will ensure as best that I can, your visit is as safe, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible. If you have any queries about your treatment at all, please let me know and we can engage to resolve your concerns.

After the treatment -

To reduce the amount of contact I am trying to avoid any handling of cash, I would therefore prefer if you could pay for your treatment by debit card or in advance using bank transfers, this is to safeguard us all.

All these control measures are put in place for your health, safety, and wellbeing and that of myself and my family. I will continue to take advice from The Government and The NHS regarding safe working practices and these will be amended as required.

Thank you for your understanding.

Your appointment at KT’S Complementary Therapies, i nterim measures -

Please let me know if you, a family member, or work colleague have recently shown symptoms of coronavirus. I will rearrange your appointment as soon as possible.

If you are in/have been in the shield group, then please be guided by the latest government’s advice in relation to your risk in having a treatment.

It does not matter if you need to cancel last minute. There is no cancellation policy whilst coronavirus measures are in place.

When you arrive, I will check your temperature with a non-contact temperature reader.

You will then be asked to use the hand gel provided in the front hall.

For your appointment you must be wearing a face covering. If you do not have one a disposable mask will be provided for you. Instructions on donning and doffing a mask are at the sanitizer station in the front hall.

Please be aware I will be wearing PPE in line with current government guidelines during your treatment.

Please dispose of your mask if provided by me directly into the bin at the sanitising station on your way out. Once again please see donning and doffing instructions.

If you require to use the bathroom or wish to wash your hands instead of using gel sanitiser, could you please use the paper towels provided and dispose of in pedal bin.

As always, a consultation will be carried out before each treatment to assess your current health status, including coronavirus related questions.

Water as always will be provided; however disposable cups will be used. Please bin these at the sanitise station on your way out. Alternatively, please feel free to bring your own bottled water.

On leaving KT’S Complementary Therapies please use hand gel once again. I will open all doors for your exit.

I would prefer if you could pay by card or direct banking to avoid the handling of money. If this is not possible could you, please bring the correct payment.

These measures are in place to help protect you, your family, myself, and my family and all my clients who visit KT’S.

Thank you for your understanding.
